Our Story

Helping you get shutters right

BN Blinds and Curtains Ltd was founded by Ricky Hughes in 2011, drawing on years of experience in blind manufacturing, fitting, and estimating. What began as a one-man operation with samples in a van quickly grew through word of mouth and strong partnerships with local curtain makers and interior designers.

As demand increased, Ricky acquired Harmony Blinds in Bexhill, rebranding it as BN Blinds and Curtains. With a skilled team and a reputation for quality and service, the business has expanded rapidly. In 2022, BN Blinds opened a factory in Sussex to produce Perfect Fit and PVC Urban Shutters, alongside a partnership with a Kent-based sister company manufacturing hardwood shutters — a key step toward sustainable, British-made production.

Ricky

With nearly two decades of experience Ricky is the person who will see you in home to offer free friendly advice and a no obligation quotation. Ricky has worked in the industry as a blind and shutter manufacturer, a installer and as an estimator.

Bianca

Bianca is the glue in our company, she keeps everyone organised, informs our customers and deals with our day to day running of the company. We are lucky to have such a well organised person who is always on hand and has her focus on our customers.

Helen

Helen is our administration guru who works with us on a part time basis to keep all of the non-day to day business organised. Helen jumps into the hot seat to cover for Bianca when needs be too.

Connor

Connor is one of our fitters. With his well-mannered, clean and efficient installations Connor has earnt many glowing reviews from our customers.

Kate

Our factory manager Kate keeps us running smoothly by insuring good stock levels for upcoming orders and adhering to our policy of trying to install our Urban shutters in around four weeks working with our staff in manufacturing and liaising with our fitters.

I cant believe how happy we both are with the transformation to the appearance of the inside and outside of our house this installation has made, it is perfect.
